The British International Freight Association (BIFA) has organized the annual Freight Service Awards for 35+ years, and the event is widely recognized as the United Kingdom’s premier freight and logistics award ceremony.
This year BIFA awarded OIA Global first place in the Staff Development category!
OIA Global is big enough for complex global solutions, yet still small enough to build meaningful relationships with customers. We embody a people-first culture because we firmly believe that the quality of our employees will continue to drive innovative and effective customer solutions!
BIFA recognized OIA’s ongoing efforts to build a culture of growth and development, both personally and professionally. In particular, the independent judging panel noted the company’s new Continuous Improvement Team, HR’s performance and learning objectives, the company’s annual employee appreciation week, the Most Valuable Teammate (MVT) initiative, and commitment to mental health and workplace wellbeing.
OIA’s internal education initiatives impact all realms, and each year every employee must establish a unique learning objective that’s specific to their skillset and personal growth plan.
“At the core of our mission is our commitment to invest in the unique talents that each of us brings from across the world. It’s not just an achievement, it’s a testament to the journey we’re on. Whether it’s creating global learning opportunities or fostering the growth of our incredible team, we’re not just shaping a brighter future; we’re creating a story together,” Jeff Barrie, CEO, said.
OIA’s niche is providing exceptional, personalized freight services to medium and enterprise-sized businesses, which makes staff development critical to our continued success. Strong personnel will always be a foundational element and key differentiator!
BIFA members, whatever their size, need comprehensive training programs to keep abreast of regular changes in regulations, industry practices, and general business matters. In this category, judges want to understand how you encourage and develop all personnel to ‘be their best’ and contribute to the success and direction of your business.
