Vintage cars to Pebble Beach and Shanghai

Challenge

A classic motor car company required a sophisticated compliance solution: transportation and customs clearances for four rare vintage cars from Germany to the United States and China, and potentially back again.

These vehicles were being shown at an auction in the United States, the prestigious Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance event! OIA’s client needed several customs and tax solutions in place, which were situationally dependent upon sales during the event.

Solution

Two cars were sold after a successful Pebble Beach event, and the other two continued on to the Bund Classics event in Shanghai before they were finally returned to Germany in pristine condition.
