Customer Support Associate - Portland, OR

As Customer Support Associate, you will exemplify OIA Global’s value of putting customers first by providing excellent service to both internal and external customers. Your proactive communication skills and strong attention to detail with thorough follow up will be the key to resolving customer requests and inquiries quickly and efficiently. This position is based in our Corporate Headquarters in Portland, Oregon.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary point of contact for both our major customers and internal operations teams
  • Serve as liaison between customer and various internal departments related to order and shipping issues
  • Coordinate order approvals, cancellations, and tracking with customer and internal departments
  • Follow-up on issues and inquiries to ensure timely resolution
  • Provide status reports for various order and shipment details
  • Run scheduled reports and develop new reports as requested
  • Analyze trade lane segments for lane improvement/loss
  • Identify opportunities for service improvements, cost reduction and increased efficiencies
  • Maintain accurate records and updated rate books

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • 1-3 years of experience in freight forwarding or logistics
  • Experience working in a customer service role preferably with international or domestic transportation
  • Experience using a Freight Management System, experience with CargoWise One is a plus
  • Emphasis on providing enthusiastic, proactive, and high-touch customer support
  • Strong communication, both oral and written
  • Ability to multi-task, work independently, and prioritize in a busy environment
  • High level of attention to detail and organizational skills
